Frisbee Golf Exploring

@mrdrcapt and I headed out yesterday to a new frisbee golf course we found online: Giles Run at Laurel Hill Park. I was impressed with the backdrop and the other things we found so I wanted to post a few pictures and comments.

A quick search only find a little of the history I was looking for, but suffice it to say that any time you can play frisbee golf on land that used to be part of a DC Correctional Facility, as well as the first and largest Nike Missile Site in the 50′s, you should do it.

The one downside is that we didn’t get to play a lot of actual Frisbee golf. The course itself is well maintained, but if you’re like me and don’t always keep your disc on the green, you should be decked out in long pants, sneakers, bug spray, and the drive to check for ticks later. Needless to say, jorts and sandals didn’t cut it, so after losing a disc down a wooded ravine we just explored and still had a great time. I’ll be going back soon.

Change is on the way for PlanetJK

I’ve wanted to redesign the site for many moons. The days of handcrafting PHP, HTML, and CSS code are done- I just don’t have the time to maintain it. The perfectionist in me pines for a deep level of control at the code layer, but the artistic side wants something that looks halfway decent and the social side wants to generate content, content, content. Yes, that means I have at least 3 sides… Might I suggest I actually have 20? Bwaah hahaha.

So, at some point in the coming months you’ll see pretty much everything here go away. And then some point after that, things will come back. But I intend to run a straight wordpress platform, for ALL the content, probably something from the inimitable Alex King and his crew at Crowd Favorite.

Billie Jean’s Home!

After 5 1/2 weeks on the lam, Billie Jean finally walked into one of the traps and was spotted by a neighbor! We ran her straight to the Vet and she doesn’t have Feline HIV, Leukemia, fleas, or signs of rabies. She’s happy and healthy, albeit much skinnier, but she’s home!

She lost a third of her weight and has to be in a room by herself for 10 days, partially to make sure there are no signs of rabies but also to reintroduce her to Tuna.

We want to give a Huge Thanks to all our neighbors for helping so much, especially to the Front Office employees of our condo for their support. The 4Paws Rescue Team was absolutely amazing with their donations of cages, time, and tips. Visit http://fourpaws.org to give or find a good home for a cat.
